How to Set Up YouTube Music on a Chromebook

While there isn’t a version of iTunes for Chromebooks, you can access your iTunes library using a workaround that includes importing songs to your YouTube Music library.

The first step is installing the YouTube Music Chrome web app on your Chromebook.

Navigate to YouTube Music on your Chromebook’s default Chrome browser. Select More (the three dots in the upper-right corner). From the drop-down menu, select Install YouTube Music. Select Install to confirm. The YouTube Music app is now on your Chromebook.

Now, go to the Windows PC or Mac where your iTunes library resides.

Follow the steps outlined above to install the YouTube Music Chrome web app on your Windows PC or Mac. After installing the YouTube Music web app, select your profile icon. Select Upload music from the drop-down menu. On your computer, select the song or songs you wish to add, and then select Open. You’ve uploaded iTunes music to YouTube Music. On Windows, iTunes song files are typically in the following location: Users > username > Music > iTunes > iTunes Media > Music. On a Mac, the default location is usually Users > username > Music > iTunes. Be patient, as the uploading process can take a while.
